Placepad simplifies the creation of a floor plan in several ways. It quickly walks you through describing your place and uses that information to build the rooms needed for your floor plan. When you want to draw a floor plan you shouldn't need to think things like "I need to draw a rectangle then add a label for some text" as you do in most general purpose drawing and diagramming tools. With placepad you describe your place in a basic way: "it's 2 floors, with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath downstairs and 1 bedroom and 1 bath upstairs". After you've given placepad all the information it needs it can generates all the rooms for your floor plan. You then just position them correctly, add some doors, add some photos and notes and you're done. If you can't get from start to finish with placepad in 15-20 minutes (hopefully a lot faster than that once you've done it a couple times) please let us know at contact@placepad.com, because we need to improve something if you can't. Placepad is currently a beta so there will be some bugs as well as things you'd probably like to see changed to make it easier to use, so please send us any feedback you have.
